SILKE BISCHOFF were an iconic band that left a massive legacy and were mournfully remembered far beyond the electronic and goth scenes that they championed particularly in Germany during the 90s. Their albums are regarded milestones until today, but internal friction, legal issues, and most of all the tragic passing of one of its founding members, Felix Flaucher, has left their works in a limbo for many years. The compilation "Tears - A Collection of Silke Bischoff Songs" is the first step in making their oeuvre available to the public again. This hand-picked selection of classic tracks has been diligently and respectfully restored with a new master by renowned producer Olaf Wollschläger, who has worked with MESH, YELLO, MILÚ, MELOTRON, and BEBORN BETON among many other greats. This compilation even contains a previously unreleased track from the archive featuring Flaucher’s vocals! SILKE BISCHOFF were originally founded by Axel Kretschmann and Felix Flaucher as a gothic and dark wave project in 1990. The band name, SILKE BISCHOFF, initially caused controversy in Germany as it was inspired by an 18-year-old victim of the 1988 'Gladbeck hostage crisis’ that tragically ended in the death of the young woman. Following an acrimonious split that was healed just before the passing of Flaucher in 2017, the band went onto a long hiatus. At the 2025 edition of the prestigious Wave-Gotik-Treffen, Axel Kretschmann revived SILKE BISCHOFF with a celebrated stellar show in front of a packed hall. More concerts have been announced and more SILKE BISCHOFF materials will be carefully restored and become available again both in digital and physical form. The legend has returned!

When Andreas Catjar-Danielsson left this world in the very early morning of July 29, 2024, it still came as a shock to his relatives and friends including his former band mates in COVENANT. Although the musicians had known for a while that their beloved friend and colleague was losing his epic struggle with cancer, the realisation of it actually happening landed with such a massive impact that nobody ever could have prepared for. Exactly a year after this dreadful day, COVENANT have announced the "Andreas EP", which is the Swedes' first release in nearly a decade. The EP is a tribute to the dear friend and colleague lost but also intended for charity as all proceeds will be going to Andreas Catjar-Danielsson's widow and their two children. "Andreas EP" contains five experimental tracks including two cover versions by YAZOO ('Winter Kills') and LEE HAZLEWOOD ('A Rider on a White Horse'). COVENANT were conceived in the city of Helsingborg in Sweden's southernmost province of Skåne, only a short boat trip away from Helsingør on the Danish side of the water in 1988 by a bunch of young lads that were inspired by the flourishing scene of European electronic music spearheaded by bands such as DEPECHE MODE, KRAFTWERK, THE HUMAN LEAGUE, and FRONT 242 to name but a few. COVENANT chose their name as a symbol of the especially strong bond of friendship that they shared. Throughout their outstanding career, which is currently spanning nine acclaimed studio full-lengths and two live albums, COVENANT have always moved forward, searched for new exciting ways of expression, and pushed the boundaries of electronic music. TWICE A MAN planted the seed for "The Coloured Breeze Is a New Dimension" with the song 'Dahlia', a 'new' track that was written to complement the compilation album "Songs of Future Memories". For three years, the Swedish dark electronic trio fertilised and nurtured the germ bud until it had taken firm root in their musical heritage and began to send offshoots to find new sonic spots beyond any previously built garden walls. "The Coloured Breeze Is a New Dimension" is an organic entity that creates something new by re-combining its musical DNA in various ways. As a result its tracks blossom in many hues of electronic colours. TWICE A MAN have always been pioneers. They spearheaded electronic music in their native Sweden. Long before it was fashionable, the Swedes positioned themselves as environmentalists. Musically, they have been lovingly described as "Ultravox on weed – also melancholic but without the saccharine pathos" or "like a sad Gary Numan, but with a warm, organic touch". There are also gentle echoes of TANGERINE DREAM, KLAUS SCHULZE, and THE HUMAN LEAGUE among many other possible references. When singer, guitarist, and keyboarder Dan Söderqvist teamed up with synth player Karl Gasleben in 1977, the duo formed COSMIC OVERDOSE as the first electronic band in Scandinavia, which grew into TWICE A MAN. During their remarkable career, the Swedes released a multitude of full-length albums that include special projects and two compilations. SO HERE WE ARE, FINALLY, PRESENTING YOU WITH THE BEST ALBUM WE WILL PROBABLY EVER MAKE.

The liner notes of "A Worthy Compensation", Beborn Beton's first album since 1999, speak volumes. Such self-confidence is not common for a band that has been silent for so long, yet insinuates that they have by no means been idle in the meantime.
When Beborn Beton's contract with their old label Strangeways was fulfilled at the turn of the millennium, the trio could realign freely. At that point the Essen-based group of Stefan Netschio (vocals), Michael Wagner (electronics) and Stefan Tillmann (programming, electronics) had established themselves as a successful act between electronic Pop and EBM, touring both in Europe as well as North America with hits such as ‚Another World', ‚Lost', ‚Little Robot' or ‚Torture'.
During the following break, they made a plan: to create an album without compromises in terms of composition and production. When this vision became reality, Beborn Beton showed a degree of consistency that, in hindsight, deserves respect. It took them more than seven years to work on new songs without cutting back on quality, carefully searching for an apt engineer and studio producer. Eventually and with the help of Olaf Wollschläger (u.a. MESH, Yello, In Strict Confidence, Seabound), they made an effort that displays maturity in all aspects and achieves the goal they had set for themselves.

"A Worthy Compensation" is a masterpiece of electronic pop - deep, timeless and melancholic with some well-dosed pathos. Songs and lyrics get under the skin in the long run, not least thanks to Olaf Wollschläger, who emphasises their strengths in an exceptional manner.
As for the album's lyrical content, the band says the following:

The album is immediately accessible but reveals its entire potential only after repeated listenings. Also, the band harks back to its stylistic past despite the long pause. Due to Stefan Netschio's trademark voice and Stefan Tillmann's nifty songwriting, each track conveys a unique atmosphere without sounding rushed or forced - a rare thing for music from this genre. In this way, Beborn Beton naturally bridge the gap between the 1980s and current productions.
This is the stuff masterpieces are made of.

With their sophomore full-length "The Point at Which It Falls Apart" that was released in 1999, British dark synthpop act MESH achieved a breakthrough both artistically and in critical acclaim as well as commercially. In the year of the 25th anniversary of the album, MESH reissue this long out of print milestone in a beautiful artbook edition packed with bonus materials. MESH had been conceived in 1991 when lead singer and guitarist Mark Hockings and keyboardist and vocalist Richard Silverthorn found friendship and mutual common ground, leading to the formation of the band. Their musical partnership has ever since defined MESH's enduring legacy. MESH's creative synergy emerged from a complementary distribution of roles: Richard Silverthorn composed the music, while Mark Hockings penned evocative and profound lyrics, infusing depth and emotion into their soundscapes. MESH's musical journey commenced with the release of the "Fragile" EP in 1994 and the full-length debut "In this Place Forever" two years later in 1996. The major label release of "Who Watches over Me" in 2002 propelled MESH further into the limelight and marked another turning point. A surge of popularity across Europe, particularly in Germany, let the UK band climb higher up the festival billings. "Automation Baby" (2013) reached #33 on the German album charts and generally dominated European Alternative Charts. With "Looking Skyward" (2016), MESH climbed to even greater heights with a #12 position on the German charts. Mark Hockings and Richard Silverthorn are currently in the process of writing the next MESH studio album. There is more than one way to listen to BEBORN BETON's ninth album "Darkness Falls Again": it is possible to just dance and enjoy contemporary synth pop hymns that have a solid musical base in the golden 80s with a dash of cool 90s influences. Catchy tunes and mature songwriting combine to form a sonic joyride. Yet BEBORN BETON also put their finger right on the pulse of our time and speak out against misogyny, sexual discrimination, and environmental destruction. BEBORN BETON were founded by vocalist Stefan Netschio, keyboard player and drummer Stefan Tillmann, and keyboard player Michael Wagner in 1989. The trio set out with the declared aim to keep synth pop relevant and give it meaning. Following their first two regular albums "Tybalt" (1993) and "Concrete Ground" (1994), BEBORN BETON joined renowned acts such as WOLFSHEIM and DE/VISION in a new label home. Having conquered Germany, the three electro-musicians rapidly expanded their realm abroad with the 1996 full-length "Nightfall", followed by "Truth" in 1997, and "Fake" (1999) that gained the Germans international acclaim by critics and fans alike. By the time, "Rückkehr zum Eisplaneten" ('Return to the Ice-Planet') was released in 2000, BEBORN BETON had firmly positioned themselves as a headlining act within their scene and toured all the strongholds of electronic music. "The Machine in the Ghost" marks HAUJOBB's impressive tenth studio album that is again different from all its predecessors. The Leipzig based duo plainly refuses to do the same thing twice. What sets "The Machine in the Ghost" apart is the prominent use of fieldwork recordings to create the sounds for this album. To achieve the desired effects, HAUJOBB used a mix of software and hardware – the latter in the shape of everyday items. This deliberate nod to a time with less software and more analogue shifting of the dials complements the theme of "The Machine in the Ghost" with a retro touch, yet without indulging in mere nostalgia for its own sake. The album revolves around the highly charged relationship between mind and matter, analogue and digital. When HAUJOBB were founded as a trio in the West German city of Bielefeld, their main influences came from the Vancouver school of industrial, in particular SKINNY PUPPY and FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY. This is audible on their early full-length "Homes & Gardens" (1993), but it did not take HAUJOBB long to become themselves regarded as figureheads of a modern electronic industrial sound. On the following albums, "Freeze Frame Reality" (1995) and "Solutions for a Small Planet" (1996), the Germans moved away from their Canadian roots and began to amalgamate IDM (intelligent dance music) with industrial and EBM. This catapulted the Germans onto the international scene and gained them cult status in the US. After HAUJOBB became a duo, they continued to have a strong impact and in particular their 2011 self-released album "New World March" is widely regarded as another milestone. With "The Machine in the Ghost", HAUJOBB have created another exciting chapter in their remarkable career. At the very beginning of the next industrial and creative revolution ignited by the furious rise of artificial intelligence, HAUJOBB still have their metaphorical musical fingers right on the pulse of time.

When FÏX8:SËD8 released their fifth album "The Inevitable Relapse" in January 2021, the dark electro act had already become an established force within the industrial scene. Deriving their name from the psychiatric terms "fixated/sedated", the German project founded by Martin Sane embarked on their musical journey with two self-released albums that have long been sold out and remain much sought after by collectors. The debut "humanophobia" arrived in 2006 and was produced by HAUJOBB's Daniel Myer, while the sophomore full-length "dormicum" that came out in 2009 was self-produced. FÏX8:SËD8 established their own soundscapes by continuously moving away from their musical paragons, which in the beginning were mainly Canadian cult acts such as SKINNY PUPPY and FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY. FÏX8:SËD8 came into being with the impressive concept album "humanophobia" that dared to artistically deal with one of the greatest crimes in the history of mankind. After visiting Cambodia and one of the so-called killing fields and former internment camps of the Khmer Rouge regime (1975-79) under Pol Pot, Martin Sane exorcised the haunting images of the communist genocide that killed a large part of the population through the creation of particularly dark electronic music. The music remained dark but there was also an obvious evolution expressed in a more focused songwriting and refined style when the second album "dormicum" started to circle in the electro industrial underground in 2009. With each following album reaching a new high-water mark in terms of songwriting and production, the calls for a reissue of the first two releases became continuously louder. This eventually sparked the idea of an artbook collecting both titles. Furthermore, the collaboration with PYRROLINE thought leader Arnte and his keen skills of production and mixing had already benefited "The Inevitable Relapse". This made him the obvious choice for a remaster of both first albums. Luckily, Arnte accepted the challenge and expertly executed the job. At long last, the legendary first two FÏX8:SËD8 albums will soon be available again. Get ready to return to the early days of Martin Sane's electronic industrial darkness with "humanophobia:dormicum".
